Tobacco Garden Bar (6A Moskovaska Street, Sofia) – another popular nightspot which gets busy during the warmer months, this venue is located within a private garden that once belonged to the royal family’s Winter Palace.  It’s a popular watering hole even during the winter months.  Another reason why patrons like this bar is because it’s open 24 hours a day.

The Corner (35 Nikola Vaptzarov Blvd., Sofia) – this is another popular rooftop bar – this one offering a summer terrace around the bar (which offers a great view of the city as wekk as Vitosha mountain.  Live music is occasionally offered here.  Both non-alcoholic, as well as alcoholic cocktails are served here.  Patrons coming here on Fridays and Saturdays are advised to make a reservation.

The Cocktail Bar (1 Bulgaria Blvd., Sofia) – this bar not only offers a variety of top shelf liquor brands like Absolut, but also American-style food like burgers.  On certain events, DJ-driven dance music is played (for its 20 & 30-something crowd).

The Archive Café (5 Moskovaka 5, Sofia) – located on the 7^th floor of the building of the Archives State Agency, this bar’s main attraction is the city view, as well as the nearby Vitosha Mountain.  This space acted as a cafeteria for state workers during the country’s Communist period.

The Apartament (68 Neofit Rilski Street, Sofia) – this venue, located on the top floor of an apartment building located in the center of the city, used to be two apartments that its owners decided to merge into this trendy lounge.  Each of the lounges has an ambiance and artistic style of its own, and the young and bubbly bar staff have an alternative selection of drinks, ranging from Bulgarian craft beers to raspberry wine.  Some also treat this place as a cultural center – where exhibitions, movie nights, and book readings are occasionally held.

Swingin’ Hall (8 Dragan Tsankov Blvd., Sofia) – this venue truly lives up to its name.  This is one of the oldest clubs in Sofia, and despite the many new clubs and bars opening up around the town, it is still a preferred place for many locals.  The genre of the music varies from rock, jazz and pop, the bands vary too – sometimes you can see some of the most famous Bulgarian bands and other times there are up-and-coming bands which are also very good.

Sense Hotel Rooftop Bar (16 Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd., Sofia) – due to its location and the view of the city that it offers, this bar has become a “must see” destination among visitors.  Located on the 9^th floor of the Sense Hotel, patrons can book a seat at a table facing Tsar Osvoboditel Street and watch the sun set in the distance.  Champagne and sparkling wines are served by the glass on Thursdays.

Raketa Rakia Bar (15-17 St. Janko Sakazov, Sofia) – located near Zaimov Park, the locals that frequent this bar tend to drink the rakia (Bulgarian schnapps) that’s served here, along with various local dishes.  The décor is intentionally retro – in particular from the Communist period – from books, to wall signs, documents and even the art on the wall.

Park Bar (26 Shipka Street, Sofia) – this is a bar where the local elite flock to, in order to see and be seen.  Others come here to have a drink in one of the quieter areas of the city center.  Park Bar is bustling with people even on weekdays — ensuring a great vibe right throughout the week.
